iRobot Roomba 880 Robotic vacuum
The iRobot Roomba 880 robot vacuum cleaner was the #1 best selling in robotic vacuums on Amazon in April 2015. This robotic vaccum model is designed to deliver a full clean with the combination of new AeroForce Extractors, enhanced airflow, and a high proficiency vacuum. The ‘iAdapt Responsive Navigation Technology’ has been introduced to allow the Roomba robotic vacuum to find its way around the home and return to its Home Base.

AeroForce Performance Cleaning System Explained
Heard alot about the AeroForce Performance Cleaning System in Roomba 800 Series robots that claims to be able to remove up to 50% more debris, hair, dirt and dust that other previous versions? Want to know how it works? Check out this video for a visual explanation.
Overall customer satisfaction for this product is high with 86% of purchasers rating the Roomba 880 four stars or above out of five, and only 5% of purchasers rating this model one star. Definitely one of the best robotic vacuum cleaners out in the home cleaning market today!
The Roomba 880 robotic vacuum has strong suction power for dust, dirt, and pet hair, but battery life drains quicker than the older models and it struggles to pick up heavier residue.
Overall customer satisfaction for this product is high:
“The new 880 is quieter than the first one. Love how we can set it for when to turn on. This works great with pet hair.”
“The iRobot Roomba 880 so far has found about two grocery bags of dirt from my condo over the last week since I’ve been using it and I am extremely impressed with its work!”
Feedback for the iRobot Roomba 880 robotic vacuum suggests the majority of purchasers are satisfied with its functionality. However, with a higher price point than its competitors, it may be misconceived that this vacuum is a step above what it actually is.
iRobot Roomba 770 robotic vacuum cleaner
The iRobot Roomba 770 robotic vacuum cleaner has been designed to provide comprehensive cleaning coverage under and around furniture and along baseboards, picking up pet hair, dirt and dust. The Auto Virtual Wall Lighthouse® barriers emit an infrared beam that Roomba won’t cross, keeping the robotic vacuum in the rooms you want cleaned. Roomba charges itself, going back to its Home Base® to dock and recharge between cleanings.
The Roomba 770 robotic vacuum delivers up to 50% longer battery life than previous Roomba generations; however, feedback suggests that the battery life is unable to sustain a full house clean.
The distributed air collection and clog-resistant design of Roomba 770 aims to optimise vacuum effectiveness with dirt and hair packing efficiency.
Customer satisfaction with the Roomba 770 rates similarly to series 880:
“Great product! Love it very much!”
“It’s great for getting under furniture and very thorough.”
iRobot Roomba 880 vs. 770
The main differences between the Roomba 770 and 880 robot vacuum cleaner are the price, battery life, power and capacity. Overall, when looking at the results of series 770 vs. 880, there doesn’t appear to be many key performance differences, so it may be fair to say that the iRobot Roomba 770 is better value for money.
Neato XV Signature Pro robotic vacuum
The Neato XV Signature Pro robotic vacuum is the other highly recommend and one of the best robotic vacuum cleaner in market today! It been designed to navigate automatically from room to room, cleaning close to edges, in corners, and around furniture. Its Smart Sensor technology has been designed to detect and avoid stairs, and avoid bumping into furniture like other robotic vacuum do.
The robotic vacuum uses a laser and sensors to see its surroundings and create accurate maps of areas to be cleaned. When the robot requires recharging, it returns to the charge base and has the technological advantage over the Roomba series of being able to resume cleaning where it left off.
The Neato XV Signature Pro has been designed with a low maintenance blade and brush system for best performance on any floor type and to pick up pet hair.
Customer satisfaction for the Neato XV Signature Pro falls slightly lower than the Roomba models, however the positive feedback far outweighs any negative:
“It does an exceptional job at picking up everything. Neato is worth every penny.”
“I am constantly impressed with the intelligence of this product. I have a golden retriever so the shedding is a force to contend with and my new assistant Viktor as I call him, is a champion cleaner.”
Neato Botvac 85 robotic vacuum
The Neato Botvac 85 robotic vacuum cleaner features a combo brush that is designed to pick up pet hair, and laser-guided technology to scan and map the room.
Overall satisfaction of the Neato Botvac 85 robotic vacuum is positive and in line with the Roomba models:
“Neato is my cleaning companion and helps me keep some sanity.”
“This little thing is amazing. The Botvac85 returns to where it left off after needing to recharge. It gets the job done.”
Neato XV Signature Pro vs. Botvac 85
The Neato XV Signature Pro model is more advanced with a 50% larger brush, bigger dirt bin, larger filter, and precise edge cleaning brush. The Neato Botvac 85 is designed to get closer to walls and surfaces and to pick up more dirt and debris.
Neato vs. iRobot Roomba
Neato robotic vacuum cleaners uses a laser sensor that scans the whole room to map out the perimeter and potential obstacles, resulting in fewer bumps into objects than the Roomba. However, Roomba the robotic vacuum has a more complex setup with an infrared sensor, object sensors and wall sensors to navigate and determine the size of the room.
Neato’s pattern is more predictable by mapping out the shape of the room, cleaning the perimeter, and moving straight back and forth until the whole room is finished. Roomba’s pattern is random and slower than the Neato.
Neato uses suction from a vacuum motor located in the rear that uses jet engine airflow principles. This results in much louder noise than the Roomba. It also has a beater bar and a pet hair brush that augment suction. Roomba uses two counter rotating brushes.
iClebo Arte robotic vacuum cleaner
The iClebo robotic vacuum cleaner is equipped with micro controller units for camera vision, power management and firm control. The sensors detect the environment while the navigation goes through rigorous analysis. Like the Neato models, iClebo is designed with vision mapping.
The iClebo has been designed to pick up dust from all floors, including hard floors and carpet, with a triple blade and strong rotating power. The iClebo is equipped with an ultra microfiber mop under the machine for wet mop cleaning, which is a feature unique to this machine. iClebo can perform wet mop cleaning and vacuum suction simultaneously.
The iClebo makes half the noise of the Roomba and Neato robotic vacuums, and cleans the whole house on one charge. However, the iClebo is not powerful enough to capture fine dust or anything with weight or substance.
Overall customer satisfaction for the iClebo is high, however slightly lower than the other models:
“I think iClebo has the great combination of Navigation, Noise, and Suction Power.”
Summary of the best robotic vacuum
Robotic vacuums are a great solution to busy lifestyles or to houses that require more frequent vacuuming. But the use of a stronger human-operated vacuum is still recommended for a less frequent, more heavy duty clean.
If you have pets, the Neato robotic vacuum models outperform the Roomba series and iClebo. However, for other types of debris, the Roomba series outperforms the Neato and iClebo with power.
The Neato models and iClebo appear to have longer battery life than the Roomba series. If you are living in a larger house, the Neato models would be suitable due to the longer battery life. If you live in a smaller house, the Roomba series is better suited with stronger power capabilities and less time required to cover floor space. The Roomba models are more expensive than the Neato models and iClebo, but they do have some higher functionalities and capabilities.
Navigation results across all models were consistent, with issues of the robot vacuums getting lost or stuck for various reasons. Keep in mind that prior to using the robot vacuum, the floor space will need to be cleared of any clutter – as you would with normal vacuuming.
