Over the passage of time, there have been numerous inventions within the cycle industry. Better and newer bikes are created using aluminum and other, lighter metals, becoming hugely successful in the market. Now, Israeli businessman Izhar Gafni has provided a demonstration of how diverse cardboard materials can be. He’s created a working bicycle made entirely out of cardboard!
The good thing about the bicycle created by Izhar Gafni is that it primarily uses recycled cardboard as its main construction material. The recycled cardboard is set in such a way that according to Gafni, the cycle is capable of accommodating up to 300 pounds, making it highly reliable and sturdy. Another great thing about the vehicle is the fact that the building costs are virtually minute; it costs anywhere between USD 9 to USD 12 to produce per each unit. Having been made entirely out of recycled cardboard, environmental advantages are also quite big.
The cardboard bicycle is ecofriendly, very lightweight and can be carried out from one place to another with relative ease. For people who reside in urban settings, this bike provides an amazing option. The chances of it being stolen are virtually minimal because of other, more expensive alternatives available in the market, which means that it is a great choice for those who have to constantly worry about parking their bike in a safe zone, etc.
The cardboard bicycle hasn’t yet entered production; Izhar Gafni is still currently on the lookout for investors for his new project. All in all, the cardboard bike is likely going to be a definite choice for people who adopt the ‘green’ lifestyle, with eco- minded people being more attracted towards the bike.
